Every Deciso OPNsense appliance with an SFP+ slot: DEC740, DEC750, DEC850, DEC2752, DEC2770, DEC3852, DEC3862, DEC3920, DEC3940 and DEC3960 with two slots each, DEC4240 and DEC4280 with four each.
May 2.5 and 10 gigabit modules be mixed?
No. Deciso explicitly notes that 2.5/5 Gbps and 10 Gbps link speeds must not be mixed, because the hardware does not support it due to the different frequencies.
Do I have to use Deciso modules?
Deciso advises selecting a module from the tested list, which also contains an RJ-45 SFP+ module for 30 metres. The compatibility list is part of the OPNsense documentation.
